Lesson 4 of 4
In Progress

Radiology Assist

Radiology Assist is a company/website that we use to save self-pay patients on imaging costs.

You’ll need to know the specific order from the provider first (ie CT of the abdomen and pelvis with and without contrast) and the zip code of the patient.

You’ll then see a list of nearby imaging facilities and cost. The results are a combination of cost and distance, so the closest imaging center may not populate as the first result. The precise location and name of the imaging center is not available until the appointment is booked.

Once you click “schedule here,” you’ll input the patient’s information

You will then input preferred appointments. Make sure the patient is available before selecting, though you’re not guaranteed the days you select.

The next screen will prompt you to upload a referral. Though not required, please ALWAYS upload a referral. Then fax and email the referral to:

After a few more patient specific questions, you’ll submit the referral.

After submitted, call Radiology Assist at 855-346-5152 to assure they’ve received the referral and ask which location the patient has been scheduled.

Communicate with the patient along the way, making sure they understand we are using a third party (but vetted) company that reduces the price of the imaging. In doing so, we’re not always privy to knowing the exact location or appointment time of the procedure ahead of time. Let the patient know to update us with any communication they receive from Radiology Assist (like appt time or location), so we can provide excellent follow-up. You can also give the patient Radiology Assist’s main line to call on their own behalf.
