CBC – Complete Blood Count

What is a CBC?

A blood test that counts the different components of your blood, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

What does it tell my medical provider?

A CBC can identify a range of health issues, including infections, cancer, allergies, inflammation, anemia, and blood disorders.

Why should I get a CBC?

A CBC can help identify potential health issues early on. By measuring the levels of these different components of the blood, doctors can assess your overall health and detect any abnormalities. It can also be helpful to get what providers call a baseline, or level that can be used to compare to future test results.
